Mystery Deepens Over Mountain Range Under Ice in Antarctica

Scientists have finally mapped the hidden mountain range under the ice in Antarctica.

This is yet another reason why I don’t mind global warming…. once all the ice melts from Antarctica, besides becoming a great spot for real estate investment and tourism, archaeologists are going to have a field day digging into the depths of mountain ranges searching for relics of a distant past to try to piece together this geological puzzle.

“It all adds to the mystery - from the tectonic perspective of how these mountains were created; and from the glacial history perspective of how the East Antarctic ice sheet was formed and didn’t erode these peaks.”

The only problem I have is the name of the mountain range - The Gamburtsevs… why couldn’t it be something catchy or clever. Boo mountain range naming commitee, boo….
